Sharie De Castro is Miss BVI 2012

Following her resounding win on Sunday, August 5 at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex, de Castro told VIStandPoint that all she expected to do was her best and she knew her best would get her the crown.

de Castro also won Miss Congeniality, People’s Choice , Miss Poise, Best Talent, Best BVI Promotion, Best Interview (Pre-done) and Miss Intellect (comprised of Best Introduction, Question and Answer and Pre-done Interview).

Asked if she expected to win so many of the prizes, the statuesque English Teacher at the Elmore Stoutt High School said that if that is what doing her best does then she’s happy.

On what is next for her, de Castro stated, “I just want to represent my country well and be able to do amazing things within the community.”

Asked if being an Educator gave her an edge in the competition, the newly crowned Queen said, “Definitely, definitely, because I already have a relationship with the young people and I would be able to even better get stuff across to them.”

To her students,  the Texas Christian University graduate added, “I love you guys and I thank you for being my number one supporters, don’t forget, always do whatever you want to do and you will, you will get the crown." ...Read More
